VIDEO: They say, 'Aren't you ashamed to wear colorful clothes? Who will grieve, you scoundrel, traitor?' - Pashinyan
Since gaining independence, one of our most visible trends continues to be emigration, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly. He noted that people are emigrating because they are looking for a suitable place to live.
“Why is this happening? Because Armenia has been governed and the authority in Armenia has been formed by elites whose ideology has been predominantly clerical-feudal, and this ideology has, in fact, not had significant development over the last centuries,” he said.
According to Pashinyan, when a citizen sits in shorts and drinks coffee on the balcony, others say, ‘What are you doing?’
“They say it’s not acceptable, there are noble ideas, you should bury yourself in the ground, how can you wear shorts, while you are supposed to draw the international community’s attention to a very specific issue from your balcony? When you wear colorful clothes, they say, ‘Aren’t you ashamed to wear colorful clothes? Who will grieve, you scoundrel, traitor? You’re having a child, and they say, ‘Are you having a child instead of mourning?’ One, two, three, four, that person says, ‘This is for you all, and I will go live somewhere where no one will shame me for drinking coffee on my balcony,’” he stated.
The Prime Minister noted that their greatest shame is that they have continued the clerical-feudal traditions after the revolution.
