Deputy Commander Hits Cyclist in Accident: Five Injured
Today, on May 29, an accident involving a cyclist took place in the Ararat region. At approximately 16:25, a 'Ford Fusion' vehicle struck a cyclist on the 33 km section of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway, in the administrative area of Vedi. The vehicle then veered into the oncoming traffic lane, colliding with a 'Hyundai Elantra' traveling towards Yerevan, before leaving the roadway and proceeding approximately 20 meters into a field.
According to reports, as a result of the accident, five individuals were taken to Vedi Medical Center with varying degrees of injuries. The Vedi Investigative Department has initiated a criminal case regarding the incident, where the identities of the drivers and the injured are being clarified.
Sources indicate that the 'Ford Fusion' was driven by a deputy commander of one of the military units of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. The drivers were subjected to sobriety tests and were found to be sober.
