We Express Our Condolences and Support to the People of Armenia: Greek Foreign Ministry
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the flooding that occurred in the Tavush and Lori regions.
“Greece expresses its condolences and support to the people of Armenia for the lives lost and the significant damage caused by heavy rain in the northern provinces of the country. We are ready to assist,” the statement reads.
It is recalled that on May 26, heavy rainfall and the overflow of the Debed, Akhstev, and Tashir rivers led to flooding in the Lori and Tavush regions. The floods resulted in the inundation of homes, buildings, and the destruction of roads and bridges. As a result of the flooding, there have been 4 fatalities. The government has declared the affected areas a disaster zone.
