Water Supply Restored in Several Areas of Lori Province Disaster Zone; Water Still Unavailable in Some Places

Water supply has been restored in several areas of the disaster zone in Lori Province, according to the company "Veolia Water." After the level of the Debed River slightly decreased, specialists from "Veolia Water" immediately conducted extensive and operational works on the 530mm water pipeline connecting Alaverdi, Arjisa, and Noyemberyan. As a result, it was possible to restore water supply in several localities of the province on the same evening.

At this time, water is still unavailable in certain parts of Akhtala city, in Teghut village (due to power outage), in Karkop village (the population here has been evacuated), and in the Piruzyan neighborhood of Alaverdi city. In these areas, the company is supplying water to residents using water tanker trucks.

Currently, Veolia team is working on organizing the reactivation of the water pipeline through the rapid section of the river. Additionally, assessments are underway to document the damages caused to the water supply and drainage systems due to the disaster.
