Mariam Z.

Poachers have shot three brown bears within a reserve in Kamchatka using a helicopter. This was reported by the tg channel Aviatorschina.

It is noted that the police are conducting an investigation into the illegal hunting of brown bears in the specially protected natural area of the "Udachka River" regional reserve.

According to preliminary information, the poachers arrived at the reserve in late April. On April 22, the hunters took off to a campsite near Lake Bolshoye in the Ust-Bolsheretsky district onboard a Mi-8 helicopter.

"The next day the hunt began, conducted from the German VO-105 (RA-1615G) helicopter. They shot the first brown bear, skinned it, placed it in a bag, loaded it onto the helicopter, and flew back to base," reports Aviatorschina.

On the second day of the hunt, April 24, the poachers flew again using the same helicopter to Mount Vershina Markeeva, where they pursued a frightened bear at extremely low altitude as it ran down the slope. The animal was unable to escape and was killed with two shots.

The actions of the poachers were followed by a local hunting inspector. He recorded everything on his phone and sent the material to the public reception commission coordinating anti-corruption work in the Kamchatka region, after which he filed a report with the police.
