VIDEO: Clashes Erupt Between Police and Citizens; Several Detained

The situation is tense at Republic Square. Clashes have erupted between police and citizens after law enforcement officials urged participants of the movement led by Bishop Bagrat to move to the traffic area.

As a result of the scuffle, several citizens were detained.

Today, May 30, an act of disobedience has begun at Republic Square. A significant police presence is currently stationed in the square, with officers forming several rows equipped with shields to block access to the Melik-Adamyan street area. There are also police forces on the other sides of the government building.

It is worth noting that yesterday, in the yard of St. Anna Church, Bishop Bagrat announced: “Tomorrow at 10:30 AM, we will enter Republic Square from all directions by car in front of the government building. If police officials do not allow it, we will leave the cars and walk to the Government building. It is very important to come, and those without cars are invited to come on foot. I invite all of you who wish to perform a feat or act of heroism. The son of this man should not have peace in this country.”

Additionally, a regular meeting of the government is scheduled to take place at 11 AM today in the government building.
