Broadcast of Russian First Channel Suspended in Armenia: Mikitar Hayrapetyan

The broadcast of the Russian First Channel has been suspended in Armenia. Mikitar Hayrapetyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, responded to "Armenpress" regarding the reasons for this decision.

- Mr. Minister, information has spread on social media regarding the suspension of the Russian First Channel's broadcasts in the Republic of Armenia. Please clarify how accurate this information is. On what grounds has the broadcast of the Russian television channel been suspended?

- According to the existing contract between the Armenian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network and the "First Channel, Global Network" company, the "First Channel, Global Network" has failed to fulfill its contractual obligations, accumulating a debt of 2.5 months. The broadcasting of the Russian Channel (ORT group) has been temporarily suspended in the public multiplex until the debt is fully settled.
