Businessman Leva Martirosyan, involved in a criminal case against the head of the Main Directorate for Personnel of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Yuri Kuznetsov, has appealed his detention. This information has been reported by TASS.

The appeal by the defense in the alleged bribery case concerning the officer from the Moscow region's chief staff has been submitted to the Basmanny Court in Moscow. Previously, the same court had ordered Martirosyan to be detained until July 12.

According to investigators, the entrepreneur was personally acquainted with the military officer and allegedly provided him with a bribe for general patronage during his service.

It later became known that Martirosyan owns two hotels, a restaurant, and a grocery store in Krasnodar.
