Charges Filed Against Two More Officials in Tragic Accident Resulting in the Death of Four Soldiers
The investigation into the tragic accident involving a Ural brand vehicle, which resulted in the death of four soldiers and injuries to 19 others on April 12, 2024, continues. The preliminary investigation has been initiated as part of the criminal proceedings in connection with this incident.
It has been reported that in the framework of the criminal case being investigated by the 9th garrison investigative department of the Military Investigative Main Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, charges have been brought against the conscript driver of the vehicle and two other relevant officials from the military unit for committing crimes as specified under part 4 of Article 538 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
Based on the factual data obtained during the investigation, other charges have also been filed against two more officials from the same military unit who are responsible for technical support, weaponry, military equipment, and ammunition maintenance, as well as for ensuring the correct operation, repairs, and evacuation of these materials, and for overseeing the technical condition of vehicles leaving and returning to the assembly point.
These two officials have been charged, and as per the court's decision, one has been placed in custody while the other is under house arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
