Possible Bread Shortage from Tomorrow: Situation in Mayis Airum
The river coming out of its course has not caused direct damage to the village of Mayis Airum, but it has effectively placed us under a blockade, as bridges and roads have been submerged. This was stated by the head of the community, Levon Zakaryan, in an interview with NEWS.am.
“The village is currently cut off from the outside world. There are still supplies and everything in the stores; the village does not have problems with water or electricity. The issue now is access,” the head of the community reported.
He noted that the village is located in a high-altitude area, therefore, the water has not reached it. “At this moment, there is no need to leave the village, but starting tomorrow, I believe we will face challenges. We will likely have problems related to bread since we have residents who go daily to buy bread, and it won’t be coming into the village, which will create a problem,” Zakaryan added.
