Participants of the Rally Will Stay Overnight at Republic Square
The members of the "Tavush for the Homeland" movement will remain at Republic Square overnight. During today's rally, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan delivered a speech and announced that peaceful civil disobedience actions will begin tomorrow at 08:00.
Earlier today, Professor Gurgen Miliqyan from the Yerevan State University Faculty of Oriental Studies stated in his speech that Archbishop Bagrat is being nominated as the Prime Minister candidate of the movement. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan also mentioned that he has consulted with the Catholicos of All Armenians and has decided to suspend his 30-year clerical activities.
The movement has also published a plan for tomorrow's actions, which states that civil disobedience actions will take place in Yerevan and the provinces starting at 08:00 on May 27. "The Tavush for the Homeland" movement encourages participants to join actions happening in their closest area and express their dissent in a way that suits them, with a suggestion to gather at 08:15 in the yard of the St. Anna Church, where Archbishop Bagrat will also be present.
