Allow Kyiv to Strike Military Targets Inside Russia with Provided Weapons: Stoltenberg's Call
The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has urged member countries to allow Kyiv to strike military targets within Russia using the weapons provided to Ukraine. “The attack launched by Russia in the Kharkiv region in May is partly due to Ukraine not having permission to use the weapons supplied by Western countries to hit legitimate military targets on Russian territory. However, the time has come for allies to consider whether they should remove certain restrictions on the use of weapons provided to Ukraine,” Stoltenberg stated in an interview with The Economist.
He did not specify which countries his call was directed at, but according to The Economist, Stoltenberg was likely addressing the United States, one of Ukraine's primary donors.
