Barcelona Dismisses Xavi from Head Coach Position
Spain's second-place team, Barcelona, has parted ways with head coach Xavi Hernandez, according to a statement from the club's website.
Club president Joan Laporta informed Xavi today that he will not continue his role in the next season. “Barcelona thanks Xavi for his work as head coach, which adds to his unprecedented career as a player and team captain,” the Catalan club's announcement stated.
In the coming days, Barcelona is expected to announce the composition of the new coaching staff. It is anticipated that Barcelona will sign a two-year contract with former Bayern Munich and Germany national team head coach Hans-Dieter Flick.
