What Happened During the Armenian Cup Award Ceremony is My Personal Stance - Vardan Minasyan
The head coach of the Armenian Cup winners 'Ararat-Armenia', and former head coach of the Armenian national team, Vardan Minasyan, stated during a press conference that what transpired during the Armenian Cup award ceremony is his personal stance, which he does not intend to change. "I did not say anything new with my actions. I have been deprived of the opportunity to be in the technical zone for several matches, but that cannot influence my position in any way," he said.
After becoming the Armenian Cup winner, during the award ceremony, Vardan Minasyan and Arthur Mkrtchyan refused to receive their medals and did not shake hands with the President of the Armenian Football Federation, Armen Melikbekyan. This incident sparked significant reactions in the media.
"The club has officially sent a letter to the federation to explain why this occurred. It states that the club is separate, meaning it has always maintained good relations with the federation, like any club, except for 'Pyunik'. There is no issue here. This is purely my personal position. I remain committed to my actions and my stance. I have made this decision, and my opinion on the matter has not changed. I know that I have been deprived of the opportunity to be in the technical zone for 3-4 games, but that has no impact on my decision or stance. I continue to hold my opinion," Minasyan added.
It is worth mentioning that during the presidential elections of the Armenian Football Federation on December 23, Vardan Minasyan supported former national team player and presidential candidate Aras Ozbiliz.
