Askeran Mayor Shamiryan's Detention Measure Revealed

The detention measure applied to the Mayor of Askeran, Haik Shamiryan, is house arrest. This was reported by his defenders. "The court, presided over by Judge R. Marikyan, partially approved the investigator's motion, applying house arrest only as a measure against our client, Askeran Mayor Haik Shamiryan," said defenders Vahe Yeprikyan and Aram Vardevanyan.

It should be noted that Shamiryan was arrested last evening at his residence. Attorney Ruben Melikyan announced this on his Facebook page, stating that the arrest was preceded by a search of his apartment. According to the lawyer, this occurred for 'obvious political motives.'
