Son of Spitak Haiko Released from Courtroom
The son of renowned singer Spitak Haiko, Hrachya Ghevondyan, has been released from the courtroom. This was reported by lawyers Aram Vardevanyan, Alexander Kochubayev, and Erik Alexanderian.
“The court rejected the investigator’s request for detention due to lack of reasonable suspicion,” the defenders stated.
Late yesterday evening, it became known that a request for Hrachya Ghevondyan’s detention had been submitted.
It is worth mentioning that Ghevondyan was arrested on suspicion of attempting to usurp power. The Investigative Committee had issued a statement indicating that H. G. was a close associate of a representative from the opposition political alliance (which was represented by Levon Kocharian in the footage) and had anti-government views, allegedly plotting to seize power in collaboration with yet-to-be-identified individuals by capturing buildings of the Republic of Armenia's government, the National Assembly, and the Police Force.
An audio recording was also leaked, allegedly featuring Hrachya Ghevondyan discussing entering governmental buildings. Subsequently, his lawyers clarified that the voice on the recording does not belong to Hrachya and that the conversation pertains to a “car recorder.”
