Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Tehran. This information was reported by Iranian media.
Pashinyan expressed condolences on behalf of Armenia and the Armenian people to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, regarding the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
It is noteworthy that PM Nikol Pashinyan has traveled to the Islamic Republic of Iran for a working visit to pay his respects.
The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian crashed on May 19 in the northwest of the country, in the Verzegani region. The high-ranking officials were returning from a ceremony to inaugurate hydro structures on the Aras River, attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene of the emergency and conducted searches throughout the night, facing challenges due to darkness and heavy rain.
On the morning of May 20, it was revealed that burnt fragments of the helicopter had been found, and all individuals on board had died. The crash resulted in the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Province Governor Malik Rahmati, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali al-Hashemi, who led the Friday prayers in Tabriz, IRGC representative Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi, and three crew members.
The powers of the President of Iran have been transferred to First Vice President Mohammad Mohberin for two months.
