Video: Marukyan on Changes in Armenian-Iranian Relations

I do not believe there can be any change in Armenian-Iranian relations because Iran’s political policies and traditional foreign policy line are such that a change in leadership cannot bring about a change in relations. This was stated today, May 22, during a conversation with journalists at the Iranian embassy by Edmon Marukyan, the president of the 'Bright Armenia' party.

“I must also mention that in Iran's governance system, the spiritual leader is the one who governs, and, in essence, we are talking about the death of the president and the foreign minister, who have played very important roles and have had very close cooperation and relations with the leadership of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I hope that officials will be appointed very quickly, in an established manner, and presidential elections will also take place. I have no concerns regarding our relations,” he said.
