The Crash of Raisi's Helicopter Has "Dark Sides," Media Reports
The aviation accident that led to the deaths of Iran's President and Foreign Minister is advantageous for Israel, but this incident has "dark sides" that need clarification. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
On May 19, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials crashed in the northwestern region of the country near Verzejani. On the morning of May 20, Iran's Vice President Mohsen Mansouri confirmed the news of the president's and his delegation’s deaths. The delegation was returning from a visit to Azerbaijan, where Raisi and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the "Gyz Galasy" hydro junction on the Aras River and the commissioning of the "Khudafarin" hydro junction.
Regarding the assassination of President Raisi, several questions arise: Is this advantageous for Israel? Yes, it is. Every incident that disturbs Iran is advantageous for Israel. Is it possible that Israel is behind this? It is possible. But I do not think we should blame only Israel. There are dark sides to the helicopter crash that need to be clarified,” writes Abdulqadir Selvin, a columnist for the paper close to government circles.
Additionally, he raises the question of whether Iran could not have installed an ELT device on the helicopter transporting the president. “If there is only one ELT device in the country, shouldn't it be on the helicopter carrying the president?” writes the author, adding, “Three helicopters were flying. Two of them successfully landed. Why did the helicopter carrying the president crash? It has been noted that two other helicopters changed their flight paths when they reached an area with dense fog. Why didn't the pilot of the helicopter carrying the president change the route? Was there a communication between the pilots of the other two helicopters regarding the change of the flight path?”
Notably, Raisi was not flying on a presidential helicopter but rather on a helicopter belonging to the Iranian Red Crescent Society. “If the helicopter transporting Raisi had been equipped with an ELT device, it would have transmitted a signal within 30 days after the crash. Thus, it would have been easier to find Raisi. It is interesting whether Raisi was not wanted to be found before his death was definitively confirmed,” the publication emphasizes.
“It has been revealed that the cockpit, where the shot-down helicopter's pilots were, caught fire. It has been reported that the pilot and two soldiers were burned alive. It has also been found that the main fuselage was separated from the cockpit where the president was. Could the fire that erupted in the pilots’ cockpit be a sign of murder? Could an explosive or flammable substance have been placed in the cockpit?” questions the author of the article.
