Iran-Armenia Relations Have Opponents: Khamenei to Pashinyan

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stated during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Tehran today that Iran's policy of expanding relations with Armenia will continue under the leadership of Vice President Mohammad Mokhber. This was reported by the IRNA agency.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the historical and geographical commonalities and mutual interests between Iran and Armenia. He noted, "I emphasize the need to expand cooperation based on the strategic nature of our relations; however, it is important to recognize that there are opponents in Iran-Armenia relations, which is why we must approach issues concerning both countries with caution and attention. Our late president was very sensitive to the border issues related to Armenia, and this sensitivity and concern should continue to be considered. We need to ensure our interests," highlighted Ayatollah Khamenei.

It is noteworthy that Pashinyan participated in a formal memorial service in Tehran to pay respect and express condolences to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation.
