Exercises for Non-Strategic Nuclear Weapons Launch and Use Begin in Russia

The Russian Armed Forces have commenced the first phase of exercises focused on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. This information was reported by the Ministry of Defense's press service.

"Within the framework of this phase, the personnel of missile formations in the Southern Military District are carrying out combat preparedness tasks for acquiring special munitions for the Iskander operational-tactical missile system, arming launch vehicles, and advancing covertly to designated areas to prepare for missile launches," the statement said.

As part of these exercises, separate units of the Russian Aerospace Forces will be equipped with special warheads known as 'daggers.' They will also conduct patrols over designated areas.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has stated that among other issues, the ongoing exercises are aimed at maintaining the combat readiness of personnel and equipment in combat-capable units and tactical nuclear weapons. They are also intended to ensure the nation's security and territorial integrity.
