Pyunik Defeats Armenia's Leader and Aims for Championship Title

In a decisive match in the Premier League of Armenia today, Pyunik faced off against league leaders Noah, resulting in a 3-0 victory for Pyunik.

This win guaranteed Noah the championship title a week before the end of the season, but a win for Pyunik would allow Yeghishe Melikyan's team to bypass Noah and gain a two-point advantage just before the season concludes.

In the first half, Pyunik displayed significant dominance and rightfully took the lead. Hovhannes Harutyunyan scored with a penalty kick, putting Pyunik ahead.

The second half saw the game intensify even further. Pyunik managed to capitalize on their success, with Yusuf Otubanjo scoring his 21st goal of the season and doubling Pyunik's advantage. Five minutes before the end of regulation, Anton Bratkov secured Pyunik's victory with a third goal, finalizing the score at 3-0.

With one match left in the season, Pyunik now holds 79 points, while Noah has 77. In the final round, Pyunik will visit Shirak, and Noah will host West Armenia. Both matches are scheduled for May 25. To be crowned champions, a draw will suffice for Pyunik in Gyumri.

It is worth noting that Pyunik is the most title-winning team in Armenia, having been crowned champions 15 times.
