VIDEO: New Footage from the Crash Site of Iran's President's Helicopter
Iranian television has broadcast footage from the site of the helicopter crash. Debris from the Iranian president's helicopter has been discovered at an altitude of 2,500 meters, the head of Iran's Red Crescent has reported.
Recall that on May 19, the helicopter transporting Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian crashed in the northwestern part of the country, in the Verzeghani area. The high-ranking officials were returning from a ceremony for the opening of hydro facilities on the Araks River, which was attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Rescue teams arrived at the site of the emergency and conducted search operations throughout the night. Their efforts were complicated by darkness and heavy rainfall. Due to the terrain, rescuers had to reach the crash site on foot.
