Major Fire on Arshakunyats Avenue: Six Booths Burned at Shopping Center
On May 17, at 03:51, an alarm was received through the "SOS SYSTEMS" fire alarm system indicating that a fire had erupted at the "Shopping City" shopping center located at 17 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan.
Ten firefighting units, one aerial ladder, and various emergency and rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations rushed to the scene. These teams included operational units from the Rescue Forces Department, the Fire Suppression and Rescue Operations Organization Division, the Crisis Management National Center, as well as personnel from the Medical Support Department and psychological assistance groups, along with a gas protection service vehicle.
Preliminary data indicates that six booths covering an area of about 1000 square meters were completely burned, while nearby booths located on an area of around 1500 square meters experienced thermal damage. The fire was contained at 06:42 and extinguished by 07:11.
At the scene, Deputy Heads of the Emergency Situations Service, Colonel D. Sargsyan and Colonel T. Petrosyan, along with other officials, were present.
