Tabriz residents are welcoming the bodies of the victims from the presidential helicopter crash in this manner, according to local media reports.

Recall that the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian crashed on May 19 in the northwest of the country in the Vardegan region. The senior officials were returning from a ceremony marking the opening of hydro facilities on the Araks River, which was attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident and conducted searches throughout the night, hindered by darkness and heavy rainfall.

On the morning of May 20, it was reported that charred wreckage of the helicopter had been found, and all individuals on board had died. The crash resulted in the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Eastern Azerbaijan Governor Malik Rahmati, the Friday prayer leader in Tabriz Ayatollah Mohammad Ali al-Hashemi, IRGC representative Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi, and three crew members.
