Video: H1 Journalists Taken to Kiran by Police Car, Entry of Others Blocked

Edita

At the entrance to Kiran, media representatives have been waiting for hours for permission to enter the village. Despite this, police are not allowing either lawmakers or journalists to enter the village. Instead, a vehicle arrived and took the crew from Public Television to Kiran. This angered those present, who began chanting 'shame, shame.'

“The chief of police from Ijevan is personally driving the car that H1 journalists should use to enter Kiran. We just witnessed another act of illegality. H1 reporters were put into a police car and taken to the village of Kiran, while representatives from other media outlets who have been covering the situation here for days are not being allowed in. We demand that journalists be granted access to Kiran village. We have seen illegality, discrimination, and disgrace,” declared MP Garnik Danielyan.

He demanded that representatives from the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs come and explain what was happening. “There’s no patience left, Ayvazyan; hurry up, come closer, and provide clarifications,” said Danielyan.

He also stated that the Primate of the Tavush Diocese and head of the 'Tavush for Homeland' movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, has reached Kiran despite several police barriers and walls and is near the church.
