He will assume the country's leadership for the upcoming two months, and new presidential elections will take place within 50 days.
As per the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first vice president, the speaker of parliament, and the head of the judiciary will form a council that must organize the election of a new president within a maximum of 50 days.
It is noteworthy that the presidential helicopter of Iran made a "hard landing" yesterday, on May 19, in the East Azerbaijan province, resulting in the death of the helicopter's crew and all passengers, including President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
