Half of Those Who Voted for Pashinyan Will Force Him to Resign if They Come Out to the Streets, Says Gagik Melkonyan
Half of those who voted for Pashinyan will force him to resign if they come out to the streets. This was stated by Gagik Melkonyan, a deputy from the ‘Civil Contract’ faction of the National Assembly, in an interview with 24News.
“There cannot be a change of power. I am confident because I see that the people gathered there are the former ones, the abject ones, who have come together, and every time one abject person joins the movement. On the first day, I saw tens of thousands of citizens; since then, I have not seen those tens of thousands. We will see if 200,000 people gather on the 26th. For a change of power to occur, 300,000 people must take to the streets; if half of those who voted for Pashinyan come out, he will resign,” said Melkonyan.
“I don’t see any objective grounds for Pashinyan to resign. I am convinced that if Pashinyan realizes he has made a mistake, he will resign. If they want to change the government, 200,000 people must gather in the square every day. Up to now, they have not been able to say who the candidate is that the people will follow. Those who want to be the Prime Minister's candidate cannot do anything at this point. Artsakh has lost its leadership. They carried out a revolution and ten days later gave away Artsakh, took the people, and moved to Armenia. And now they have come here, wanting to change the government,” he added.
