Video: Kiran Residents Aren't Crying, You Misunderstood. Why Did You Leave Artsakh, Why Didn't You Stay There? Says Tavush Regional Police Chief
The head of the Tavush Regional Police of the Republic of Armenia, Arthur Mkrtchyan, assures cultural figures heading to Kiran that what was seen in the videos published online yesterday is not true. This concerns the emotional scenes of women crying. “Kiran residents are not crying, you have misunderstood,” he stated.
A local journalist from Artsakh, who was covering the event, responded to the claim, saying, “At that moment, it’s understandable to be emotional and cry; this is what 120,000 people from Artsakh have done in such situations, just so you know.”
Arthur Mkrtchyan first inquired about the young journalist's background and then directed his remarks at the Artsakh journalist, asking, “Why did you leave Artsakh, why didn’t you stay there?”
One of the leaders of the movement, Suren Petrosyan, attempted to reprimand the head of the Tavush Regional Police.
