Video: Rally Car Plunges into Crowd, Casualty Reported in Russia
During the rally competition in the Leningrad region of Russia, a rally car sped into a crowd of people. Local media have reported on the incident.
In the video, the car can be seen racing at high speed before crashing into the crowd.
According to event organizer Olga Sivacheva, one person has been hospitalized and later died in the hospital, and there are no other reported injuries. The competition was immediately suspended, and an ambulance arrived at the scene.
The Leningrad regional investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the incident, with law enforcement officials currently on site.
