Kyiv Asks Washington for Permission to Use American Weapons to Strike Russia
The request is being discussed at the White House and the Pentagon. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Kyiv is also seeking assistance from Washington regarding the identification of targets for these strikes. Earlier, John Kirby, the National Security Advisor at the White House, stated that the U.S. administration is opposed to the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territories. “This is a policy that has not changed,” he remarked.
Politico noted that after Washington provided Kyiv with long-range missiles, the stipulation was that the White House insisted they not be used for strikes against Russia. The newspaper also reported that representatives from Kyiv are currently in Washington trying to persuade U.S. authorities to lift the restrictions on the use of supplied weapons for striking Russian territory.
