Kiranzi Resident Responds to Prime Minister's Office

A resident of Kiranzi, Gohar Vardanyan, has responded to the statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office regarding the return of 25 hectares of land.

In her Facebook post, Vardanyan emphasized that these 25 hectares have always been under the control of Armenia, with parts of the land being mined, portions housing our armed forces, and some used by local farmers.

She referenced the government's recent announcement which suggested that these lands were previously inaccessible to Kiranzi and would now be returned to the community: "The good news for Kiranzi, as stated by the Prime Minister's Office yesterday, is that approximately 25 hectares of agricultural land, which have been inaccessible for the last 33 years, will be returned to the village."

Vardanyan pointed out that this statement may create a misleading impression for those unaware of the situation, suggesting that the lands were under the control of Azerbaijan and would be transferred to Armenia as a result of demarcation negotiations.

She reiterated that the 25 hectares of land have always been under Armenia's control, and expressed concern that the public could be misled by the government's communication.
