Fake Information Published in the Media: Police Are Exclusively Addressing Their Legal Responsibilities
The Police of Armenia has responded today to the systematic publication of articles in the media, released within minutes of each other, stating that there are allegedly "dissatisfactions within the police system, and a series of resignation applications may begin," as well as mentioning the Police's "aggressive behavior, dispersing protesters, and beating them."
“We inform you that this news is completely fake and has no relation to reality. The Ministry of Internal Affairs police are clearly carrying out and will continue to carry out only the tasks laid down by the law, while service investigations and reviews are being appointed in the Ministry’s internal security and anti-corruption department for certain problematic cases. This targeted information attack, during which blatantly false and, in some cases, even laughable information is being published, is directed by certain circles and aims not only to sow division within police ranks but also to target and discredit the officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”
“We urge everyone not to become a tool for certain circles by spreading falsehoods, as this not only discredits the structure or the official but also the media outlet that publishes blatantly false information,” it is stated in the statement released by the Police.
