Archbishop Bagrat Presents Upcoming Plans
The leader of the Tavush Diocese, Archbishop Bagrat, has presented information about upcoming projects in the yard of Saint Anna Church in Yerevan.
“I am pleased that the idea and agenda we have proposed are fully expressed today. There is solidarity among everyone, the thoughts are clear, and the actions are precise—each with its share of responsibility. I am very happy about this,” said Archbishop Bagrat referring to today’s meeting with political forces.
When asked when the name of the prime ministerial candidate of the movement would be announced, he reiterated that no decision has been made yet, and discussions about his potential candidacy are the understandings and desires of political parties, and that it is not an official decision. He also mentioned that he needs to meet with His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, regarding this matter.
Archbishop Bagrat also met with cultural figures today, during which he presented the work already accomplished and informed them of the upcoming actions and plans. “In this week we will have various meetings, and our important rally will be on Sunday, May 26,” said the archbishop, adding that the movement will begin the implementation of clear initiatives.
After the meeting with cultural figures, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan also met with the retired officer corps but did not want to provide details about the discussion, simply stating that the retirees also made suggestions.
Referring to the closed meeting with military personnel, he said: “They were our reserve officers, generals, experienced individuals who, unfortunately, like our people, are in a difficult situation both psychologically and otherwise after this devastating war. They have expressed their readiness to participate in the movement and to gather in larger numbers. More than 200 officers attended this meeting, from the younger generation to the more senior ones, which gives us, in a certain sense, hope. We asked everyone to develop concepts on how they envision the developments in their areas.”
