Village Heads Dismissed for Submitting Fake Diplomas

Based on the prosecutor's motion, the administrative heads of the villages of Ghukasavan and Nizami in the Ararat region have been dismissed from their positions. This information was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.

“On January 9, 2024, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecutions against the administrative heads of the Ghukasavan and Nizami communities in the Masis municipality. They did not possess the higher education required for the position of administrative head of a community with more than 1,000 registered residents, yet submitted false diplomas attesting to this condition. On April 26, the prosecutor submitted a motion to the Masis mayor to terminate the employment contracts with the heads of the villages of Ghukasavan and Nizami,” the statement reads.

According to the Masis mayor’s decisions made on May 2, 2024, the administrative heads of Ghukasavan and Nizami have been relieved of their duties. It has been reported that the administrative heads’ tenure was suspended on January 10, and on March 29, criminal prosecution was terminated on the grounds of expiration of terms.
