Silent Work with Azerbaijan is More Effective: Lilit Minasyan

Nothing is being conceded from the territory of the Republic of Armenia. This was stated by Lilit Minasyan, a member of the parliamentary faction of the Civil Contract party, in an interview with Tert.am.

“Our opposition figures say that the Alma-Ata Declaration cannot be a basis for delimitation, because there are no attached maps. Not a single millimeter of territory under our jurisdiction has been conceded,” she said.

In response to our question regarding the work being done for the return of prisoners held in Baku and the political-military leadership of the Republic of Artsakh, the MP mentioned that the current government is working quietly. “There are two options for working with Azerbaijan: either constantly countering each other in the public sphere or working quietly. The second option—working quietly—has been more effective. We must not turn the return of prisoners into a part of domestic political discourse,” emphasized Minasyan.

Referring to the movement “Tavush for the Homeland,” led by Bishop Bagrat, and the initiation of the impeachment process, Lilit Minasyan stated that she rules out even a single signature from the Civil Contract party in the impeachment process and that they do not have discussions about this process on their agenda. “What is the purpose of impeachment? If the opposition had no other way to come to power than elections, I would say that we have a dictatorship in our country. The local government elections in Yerevan showed that we did not have a majority by just a few votes. Our people see that the elections have not been falsified under our government,” she highlighted.
