India Awaits Concrete Proposals from Armenia, Says Ambassador

India is awaiting details from Armenia regarding the use of the Chabahar port and will definitely take them into account once concrete proposals are received from the Armenian side. This was stated by India's Ambassador to Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha, in an interview with Armenpress, revealing that Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan visited Chabahar port in December 2023.

The Indian ambassador emphasized that the Chabahar port is being jointly developed by India and Iran. “From the Armenian side, we are looking forward to the details, and we will definitely consider that once we receive concrete proposals from Armenia,” the ambassador underscored, mentioning that representatives from Armenia have expressed interest in utilizing the Chabahar port during discussions between the two countries.

Addressing Armenia's potential role in the development of communication routes from India to Chabahar port and then to the Black Sea, Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha noted that, as a landlocked country, Armenia definitely needs more connectivity projects. “If this materializes, I believe it will help Armenia overcome the fact that it is a landlocked country,” the ambassador concluded.
