EU Council Bans Broadcasts of Three Russian Media Outlets
The EU Council has decided to suspend the broadcasting activities of three Russian media outlets and the Voice of Europe portal based in Prague. This information was announced in a statement published on the EU Council's official website.
“Today the council made a decision to stop the broadcasting of four additional media outlets in the EU that disseminate and support Russian propaganda and the aggressive war against Ukraine. These include Voice of Europe, RIA Novosti, Izvestia, and Rossiyskaya Gazeta,” the statement reads.
It was noted that the ban on the broadcasting of these media outlets will not impede journalists' activities. They are allowed to conduct research and interviews within the EU,” the statement emphasizes.
