No One Says 'Wow, This Birthday Salad is Spoiled, Let’s Send It to the Tax Authority': Pashinyan

Yes, the government is obliged to spend the collected funds as efficiently as possible, we understand this. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today, on May 16, during a government session.

“But let everyone calculate how efficiently they spend money on their weddings, christenings, birthdays, and house construction. As much as they spend efficiently, so do we, because we are the same people. It’s not that we came from somewhere else and just sat down here. We have stepped out of those birthday and christening ceremonies and have come here, and from here we are going back to the same birthday and christening ceremony, where something is gained, something is lacking, and something might be spoiled. No one says, ‘Wow, this birthday salad is spoiled, let’s send it to the Tax Authority, let’s see who made a mistake—the father, the mother, or the uncle.’ No one says that,” the Prime Minister stated.

Pashinyan emphasized that we are all the same kind of people living and working, and this is a very important understanding. “The same person who has become an MP or a minister by circumstance will not behave differently at home, or at the workplace—completely differently. It is excluded; such a thing cannot happen; it simply cannot,” he said.
