MP Narek Grigoryan's Wife Has Not Submitted a Declaration for 4 Years: Anti-Corruption Commission in Search of 'Seizure'
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports: 'The authorities have long been looking for ways to 'seize' the Anti-Corruption Commission. This seemingly aims to rectify their shortcomings and expedite corruption cases. The current government, which was formerly in opposition, used to denounce and scrutinize any governmental MP whose spouse or family member failed to submit a declaration.
For instance, it raises questions about what the Anti-Corruption Commission and the ruling party would say regarding the fact that one of their own MPs' wives has not submitted a declaration for nearly four years. Consequently, Narek Grigoryan's declaration, the post-revolutionary vice-governor of Gegharkunik and current MP, appears to be completed as required, but the same cannot be said for his wife's declaration.
Narek Grigoryan's wife, Marieta Nikoyan, has not submitted a declaration since 2020-2021, despite working at the Gegharkunik Regional Administration as a leading specialist. Nevertheless, the deadline for submitting a declaration remains until June 22, but with this record, it seems unlikely that Grigoryan's wife will submit one.
This is also the corruption that the authorities attempt to conceal, yet, unfortunately, the media community will not leave such matters hidden. We attempted to obtain a comment from Narek Grigoryan regarding the reason why his wife has not submitted a declaration for years. Our calls went unanswered, and the number was inaccessible, as has been the case for almost all ruling party MPs during these days.'
