Mandatory Life and Health Insurance for Armenian Citizens Visiting Georgia Not Confirmed for June 1
The issue of implementing mandatory life and health insurance for tourists visiting Georgia has been discussed with the relevant Georgian authorities. Ani Badalyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed Tert.am about this.
"Currently, there is no clear timeline regarding the application of the law. The deadline circulating in the media of June 1 has not been confirmed, and later dates are being considered. Georgian authorities will formally notify the relevant Armenian bodies in advance regarding the process and details to ensure that Armenian citizens are informed in a timely manner," she said.
It should be noted that an earlier statement was made indicating that, starting from June 1, 2024, mandatory life and health insurance would be required for foreigners in Georgia, which would ensure the provision of necessary medical assistance and coverage for accidents for tourists.
