Hayk Marutyan Reaches Court: Lawsuit Against Municipality and Ministry of Internal Affairs
While citizens across the republic are engaged in a daily struggle under the leadership of Bishop Bagrat for the "Tavush for the Homeland" campaign, former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan is contesting the issue of entering the city hall in court. This was reported by the daily newspaper "Zhoghovurd."
According to the newspaper, on May 13, former Yerevan Mayor and leader of the "New Force" party Hayk Marutyan filed a lawsuit against the Yerevan City Hall and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to our information, Hayk Marutyan is demanding that the court annul the joint orders of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs General Department of Police, dated 09.10.2023, No. 3179-A, and the No. 63-A order from the same date, and lift the prohibition preventing him from entering the Yerevan City Hall.
It is noteworthy that on March 12, a large number of citizens gathered in front of the Yerevan City Hall to protest against the increase in transport prices. Among them was former Mayor Hayk Marutyan, who was not allowed to enter the building. The case has been assigned to Judge Herminé Muradyan.
