According to Tavush Residents, an Armenian-Azerbaijani Meeting is Taking Place in the Azatamut-Ghazakh Sector
In the Azatamut village of Tavush, increased military police presence is reported along the stretch leading to the Azerbaijani Ghazakh region, with local residents speculating that a meeting between officials from the two countries is currently underway. This information comes from Azatutyun.am.
This morning, locals observed state vehicles heading towards the Azerbaijani border. Joint border demarcation commissions had issued a statement on April 19, setting a deadline to finalize the descriptions of four sections of the border line based on measurements, with the intention to sign a report by May 15.
However, as of now, there has been no announcement regarding the time or location of the signing, nor has there been clarification on who will represent Armenia in the signing. Both the office of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who heads the Armenian border demarcation commission, and the Armenian Foreign Ministry, which has communicated about the meetings and agreements between the two countries' commissions, have not provided any concrete answers. Baku has also remained silent on the matter.
