VIDEO: Brawl Breaks Out Among MPs in Georgian Parliament
A brawl occurred in the Georgian Parliament during discussions on the third reading of the law on “Transparency of Foreign Influence” involving MPs from the parliamentary majority and the opposition, as reported by a correspondent from the ВЗГЛЯД newspaper.
The altercation began following speeches by members of the Saakashvili-led "United National Movement," Tinatin Bokuchava and Levan Khabeishvili, who accused representatives of the "Georgian Dream" party of "betraying" national interests and started hurling insults.
During the fracas, female MPs did not shy away from participation. Bokuchava was seen pulling the hair and scratching the face of her colleague from the ruling party, while "Georgian Dream" MP Rima Beradze hit an opposition MP on the head with papers after being accused of having worked for the Communist party during the Soviet era.
