Plan for Cooperation Between Armenia and India’s Defense Ministries for 2024-2025 Approved

On May 14, the first defense consultations between the defense ministries of Armenia and India took place at the administrative complex of the Armenian Ministry of Defense. The meeting was chaired by Levon Ayvazyan, head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, and Shri Vishvesh Negi, Joint Secretary for International Cooperation in the Indian Ministry of Defense, as reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense.

Also present at the consultations was Nilakshi Saha Sinha, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Armenia, along with Military Attaché, Brigadier General Navin Nijhawan. During the discussions, the progress and prospects of Armenia-India cooperation in the defense sector were addressed, including areas such as military-technical cooperation, personnel military education and tactical training, experience exchange, and other fields. Issues related to regional security were also discussed.

Levon Ayvazyan presented the ongoing reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces. At the conclusion of the consultations, a protocol summarizing the results of the discussions was signed, which established the creation of a joint working group on bilateral defense cooperation and approved the plan for cooperation between the defense ministries of Armenia and India for 2024-2025.
