Zelensky Reports Fierce Fighting; Evacuation of 1600 from Volchansk Planned

Intense battles are ongoing in the Kharkiv direction. Some villages have practically turned into war zones. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media.

“The situation near Volchansk is very serious. The city is under continuous Russian fire. Our forces continue to repel Russian assaults,” he stated.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, announced that the evacuation of civilians from Volchansk will continue, with plans to evacuate around 1600 local residents today.

“The situation is quite complicated, but our military is controlling it,” the official noted. Syniehubov added that 200-300 people remain in Volchansk, and communication with them is ongoing for evacuation to safer areas.

Ukraine's General Staff reported that Russia continues to strike defensive positions across the front line. According to the military agency, Russian troops are not halting their offensive operations in the Kharkiv direction. Although the Russian army has achieved partial success around the village of Lukyantsi, its advance has been halted.
