Belgium Allocates Millions of Euros to Ukraine: Purpose Revealed
Belgium will provide an additional €9 million in aid to Ukraine for the reconstruction of damaged energy infrastructure, announced Belgian Minister for Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez.
"Ukraine's energy infrastructure is fragile and overly centralized, making it very vulnerable," said the minister, as quoted by the RTBF television channel.
This €9 million will be allocated through the UN Development Program, which has organized a system that allows for quick purchasing of spare parts and the supply of new equipment for repairing damaged or destroyed infrastructures. Furthermore, the UNDP emphasizes the importance of stable and decentralized energy sources, Gennez clarified.
According to her, "alongside military assistance, this support will contribute to strengthening Ukraine's stability."
