VIDEO: Activists Storm Tesla Factory Near Berlin
Protesters have stormed the Tesla factory located in Grünheide, Germany, according to Bild. It is reported that police are trying to stop the crowd.
Footage shows a large group of people wearing blue hats marching through a forest with a red flag. The report states that around 1,200 activists from all over Europe have gathered at the factory since Thursday. They have set up a tent camp and are demanding the cessation of the factory's expansion.
Mounted police and water cannons have been deployed to the scene. The Tesla factory in Grünheide is the only one in Europe. The facility opened in 2022 and employs 11,500 people. It produces about 250,000 vehicles annually.
Production at the Grünheide Tesla factory had been halted in March following a fire at a power pole. Media reports indicated that climate activists were behind the attack. They support local residents' protests against the factory's expansion into a water protection zone, which plans to build a truck station, logistics facilities, and warehouses.
