I Have Neither Ambition Nor Desire: Bishop Bagrat on His Potential Candidacy for Prime Minister
Mariam Z.
“I am sincerely grateful to Mr. Oskanian, but I have neither ambition nor desire, and I believe it is not right.” This was stated by Bishop Bagrat, responding to the former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian’s remark that Bagrat should be the candidate for prime minister.
When asked how he would respond if a significant number of movement participants nonetheless demand his candidacy, Bagrat said, “The process will determine that; I honestly say, everything happens by God’s will, let the process proceed by our Lord’s intention. Divine providence is what guides us.”
