Alekseanyan Issues Statement on Behalf of CP Regarding the Demand for Pashinyan's Resignation

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, was elected by the vote of the people of Armenia, and therefore can only be removed by the people. This statement was made by Vahagn Alekseanyan, a member of the Civil Contract party, during a broadcast on Public Television, addressing the issue of Bishop Bagrat's demand for Pashinyan's resignation.

"The legitimate Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, cannot be removed based on the demands of various spokespeople for Robert Kocharian. When the people wish to change the government in Armenia, they will change it, but the people should never be equated with the Serge-Kocharian bandits," said Alekseanyan. He noted that his remarks do not pertain to all citizens gathered at Republic Square.

It is worth noting that today, the movement 'Tavush for the Homeland' held a large rally at Republic Square. The leader of the movement, Bishop Bagrat, had given Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan one hour to resign, which did not occur.
